Six Picks – Week of Jan. 10

Here are recommended articles from the past week – and it was eventful week, to say the least.

A Jarring Protest at the Capitol – How Do We Respond? – Many Christian authors posted articles about what happened Wednesday at the Capitol. Of those I read, Pastor Zach McIntosh had the best article by far.

Statement by President George W. Bush on Insurrection at the Capitol – Of all the statements by leaders in response to the mayhem in DC, I thought President Bush’s was very well said.

Gospel Doctrine, Gospel Culture – Brief, thought-provoking article on the connection between Gospel doctrine and a church’s culture.

9 High-Impact Leadership Lessons from 2020 – All nine points are excellent! Great practical wisdom.

10 Fresh Ways to Read Your Bible in 2021 – Many good ideas! My 2021 goal is to read the Bible more. The Lutheran Study Bible – print and digital – is my favorite study tool right now.

3 Words for 2021 – Three great words – new, promise, anticipation – and thoughtful explanations for choosing those words. What are your words for the new year?

God bless your week ahead!
